Fresh crunchy waffles without milk are always part of my diet as a cake substitute or lunch alternative. I have a few waffle recipes that I always love to bake and today I’m sharing with you my waffle recipe without milk for extra crunchy waffles with water.

Instructions for crunchy waffles without milk

First, mix flour, baking powder, sugar and vanilla sugar. Then add fluffy butter, alternatively you can use margarine.

Then add three medium eggs and 100ml of sparkling water. Now mix the dough in a food processor or blender.

In the meantime or even before you make the batter you can preheat the waffle iron. When the dough is a nice mass, the waffles can be put into the hot waffle iron.

However, you should grease the waffle iron in advance with a little butter, so that the finished waffle can loosen better.

I had for my waffles during my trip for my lifestyle blog a waffle iron with heart waffles and even small wooden sticks as a handle can use. When it comes to the right amount of batter, you just have to try a bit until you find the perfect amount for your particular shape. It’s best to start with a small amount of dough and then increase a bit. Usually a simple spoon is best for this.

After a few minutes, you can remove the waffles from the waffle iron and let them cool on a cooling rack. Do not use a fork to remove the waffles from the mold, as these can quickly scratch the waffle iron and damage the coating – a wooden lifter is very suitable.

Waffles without milk at lactose intolerance and as a basic recipe for other ingredients and changes. I can still remember very well my first waffles without milk, a little crunchier than the known recipes, but after a short time this recipe became my favorite.

My favorite way to serve and eat my waffles is without milk, with powdered sugar and some fruit on the side. In the winter I love to serve hot cherries, cream or vanilla ice cream with them.

If you separate the egg whites in advance and beat them until stiff, you can also avoid using baking powder with the waffles. Instead of sparkling water you can also use still water, but then you should not do without baking powder if you want crunchy waffles.
