Cream sugar, salt and butter in a cake mixer until fluffy. Add egg and flour by tablespoonfuls while mixer continues to run. Place dough in the refrigerator for an hour.

After an hour, roll out the dough with flour and cover a fruit-base mold with it, creating a rim. This edge is important, because especially with plums a lot of juice is produced during baking and we do not want to have this juice permanently burned in the oven.
Now place the plums in a circle, standing slightly upright from the outside to the inside, and press them very lightly into the bottom.
Bake the cake for about 45 minutes at 180 degrees (top/bottom heat) and let it cool before removing the pan.
