Best banana ice cream recipe – banana split
Banana split ice cream has always been one of the classics in the ice cream parlor. Back then, it was made with vanilla ice cream, bananas and lots of cream and chocolate sauce. Today I’m showing you the modern version, which is still extremely reminiscent of banana split ice cream.
Bananas and ice cream go perfectly together and chocolate goes well with any ice cream. However, you can also leave out the chocolate pieces if you prefer to make a simple, creamy banana ice cream.

Extra creamy ice cream with chocolate and bananas
If you want your homemade ice cream to be extra creamy, you can always add a banana to the ice cream mixture. So you can probably imagine how deliciously creamy this ice cream made with just bananas and yogurt is.
I like to eat fresh yellow bananas in my fruit cup, but I always look for alternatives when the bananas get dark, soft and mushy. So far, I haven’t found a banana bread recipe that I would want to share with you, as all the variations so far have been too mushy and sweet for me.
However, I have now found a much better use for my ripe bananas – a creamy banana ice cream recipe. Quick to make, few ingredients and absolutely delicious. The yogurt ice cream base means that the ice cream is not too sweet.
I also like to add dark chocolate pieces to the ice cream, which give it a deliciously tangy note. The combination of banana and chocolate is unbeatable. It’s even better chilled with creamy yoghurt.
Delicious and simple banana ice cream recipe with yogurt
Yogurt ice cream as the base for our simple banana ice cream recipe, making it quick and easy to prepare. You don’t need to boil the ice cream mixture, but can start chilling it immediately after the stand mixer. To do this, chill the bananas in the fridge in advance.
Bananas are an ideal ingredient for making ice cream as they are naturally sweet, creamy, nutrient-rich, versatile and health-promoting. Bananas are rich in important nutrients such as potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B6 and fiber. Using bananas in ice cream not only gives you a delicious treat, but also a little nutritional boost.
Bananas contain no saturated fat, are cholesterol free and are low in sodium, making them a healthy choice for those craving a sweet treat without adding weight to their diet.
Yogurt contains probiotic bacteria that can promote gut health. So by enjoying yogurt ice cream, you can not only satisfy your cravings, but also help your body maintain healthy gut flora.
By using yogurt, you not only get a delicious ice cream, but also a good portion of protein, which is particularly beneficial for a balanced diet. So if you’re looking for a delicious and healthy way to cool down, banana ice cream with yogurt is definitely worth a try!

This ice cream recipe is incredibly soft and smooth. I will definitely try it again. Have you ever tried something like this with watermelon or strawberries?
Hey Felipa,
